Original equipment manufacturers such as Google, Samsung and OnePlus generally value the transfer of functions from their latest flagship devices to older devices. For example, older pixels have recently received the Pixel 4 astrophotography camera mode, the Galaxy S10 series supports DeX for Windows / Mac, and older OnePlus devices have received functions such as Zen mode, DC dimming and more.
However, it seems that one of the least known features of Pixel 4 will not reach its predecessors. The attention function of the Pixel 4 screen keeps the screen while you look at it. We’ve seen this (badly) implemented in other Android forks, and Google seems to be the only one who has managed to do it right
Unlike the many gestures of Motion Sense, Screen Attention does not use the Project Soli Radar. However, the idea behind this is quite scary since your phone looks at it effectively at any time. Google claims, however, that images are never saved or returned to the mothership.
In a statement to Android Police, a Google spokesman confirmed that Screen Attention initially only applies to Pixel 4. Google may want to retain some features not only for Google Pixel 4. In addition, many pixel camera features will continue to arrive. to as many devices as possible, thanks to third-party Google Camera application developers who work tirelessly to make the application work.
However, we can assume that Screen Attention will find its way to older devices in a future version. The requests from the Android community to Google have always given positive results.
You must determine how many people want Screen Attention, taking into account that your phone’s camera will look at it at any time. At least, we will probably get an unofficial port created by the community.
