If you thought that the initial problems of the Galaxy Fold would prevent Samsung from continuing to create flexible screens, you would be wrong. At the Samsung developer conference today, the company joked with a new device that folds more like an old phone.
This is an intriguing form factor, supposed to appear on the supposed Motorola RAZR phone next month. Folded vertically rather than horizontally, the device can retain a more typical smartphone size and image size when open.
This should make the camera more familiar and use a more comfortable aspect ratio for watching movies. But once folded, it occupies a smaller footprint.

It seems that this may offer a good compromise between the productivity of the Galaxy Fold and the comfort and familiarity of a traditional phone, although Samsung has also introduced new features, such as folding the phone halfway to keep the phone cool.
camera during a transmission. Because the screen seems to be smaller than the normal Galaxy Fold, its price could also be lower.
Unfortunately, Samsung did not do much more than tease. We do not know when we will hear more about the device, not even the confirmation of its eventual materialization; Samsung says it is “exploring” new form factors.
Nevertheless, since the company was encouraging developers to prepare their applications for the new folding mechanism, I would not be surprised to see it appear in a year or two.
